Rough rough draft for an important project. 🙃 Still loads to do, refining outlines, shading, background, lighting, etc... but I'm happy with the general look that's developing. I was using a reference, but I couldn't find the name of the artist to credit. 😖

The ultimate goal for me is to keep the chaotic energy of the layouts in the final pages, while still refining them just enough to not look like chicken scratch. There’s a happy middle ground somewhere that I have trouble finding. Anyway, here’s a couple rough layouts.

I use the sketch! I don't have the process recorded sadly, but I start with something like this. Coloring under the sketch as detailed as I'd like to be and then I flatten the whole thing and begin refining! My icon also follows the same technique. Makes it super crispy👌👌
