On this day in 1828 English artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti was born. He was not only a founder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, but also a poet and translator. The painting by Henry Treffry Dunn depicts Rossetti reading proofs of Ballads and Sonnets.
