I DEFINITELY have to learn how to use CSP... the color filter that makes the software do the colors brings pretty beautiful results ;_; those gradients!!

Took three hours to draw this, and I'm actually fairly happy with how this turned out. Was playing around with gradients lol. My thanks goes to and her streams for getting me pumped up to post stuff and experiment.

I also love the grainy textures & how instead of using soft gradients, they went for a "rough" transition from light to shadow.

Finished the Dalton promo remake
Tried using area selection and actual gradients for the shading instead of painting the transparency masks and I think it turned out well :)

lol, well if u feel stuck with ur own artsyle pulling reference from the artstyles that u admire could help. my artstyle was heavily influenced by Dead Leaves (my luv for deep dark linework), And Sonic Adventure (my luv of gradients).

not sure how you feel about gradients but here is my take? you do not have to keep the spots or pattern on tail or anything but maybe just a more muted purple would work

The pose is a LOT more fluid and the subtle rainbow gradients in the shading make me drool! Plus look at that mischievous face!!
