Ox-eye daisies are now beginning to cover the pasture-land. Lovely easy subject for wet-in wet backgrounds by blocking out the daisy shape with masking fluid resist first.

Some new sketches from following the course. My idea: A mushroom explosion, where a 2nd explosion happens and rips the existing smoke appart. Currently I'm blocking out shapes, forms & volumes of the smoke.

what i find easiest is blocking in the basic shadows based on the light source, and then going back in to shade the folds and wrinkles! it makes it easier for me to pick out where and how to shade those. kind of a quick and messy example pic but like this!
