I've recently felt very nostalgic for my older work. While there are areas I've improved in, there's something here that I've drifted away from. Something about the fine-lined figure with the unlined background and a textured finish is calling to me again

Which line style ya'll prefer?
I've been using the textured pen on the right, but I also like the crisp points I can get with the basic pen on the left. 🤔
I should look for some new brushes, maybe I can find the best of both worlds.

I have this tendency with pixel art to try to make tiles as textured and detailed as I can make it, but the end result looks so muddy.

I look at games like Yoshi's Island or Super Tempo, and they both remind me that excessive detail isn't everything.
