#TBT Artist John Falter captures a lively scene outside the museum for this cover of the Saturday Evening Post, 1960.
While offering a southern perspective of Michigan Avenue, Falter still captures the iconic Tribune Tower to the north in the reflection of the cameraman’s lens.
Illustrations by Dutch designer, Kees Kelfkens (1919-1986), including his covers for the 1956 Dutch edition of THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS, and THE HOBBIT, 1960.

Norman Saunders produced 867 pulp and paperback covers between 1935 and when he retired in 1960. That is the highest output of any pulp artist and this is in addition to trading cards and other commercial art he created. I present to you his art without copy.
