Some of the artwork I have been doing over the years for Commodore 64 releases. #commodore64 #c64
@nismoar @SkaldRpg @_ClulY_ @SyntaxErrorSoft The programmers were already so technically competent with the C64 ..and the Amiga was new, and they were still finding their way. (and making good dev-tools) 😁 Also, yeah, I really have a soft-spot for the sound of the 6581 SID. Still love to hear it's very particular sound. 🎵
@_ClulY_ @SyntaxErrorSoft @SkaldRpg Oh, Defender of the Crown was so so pretty. To this day I still prefer the C64 version over the Amiga one. 🤔 Though I admit the Amiga one's graphics were amazing.. it's something about the combo of gfx+sound+gameplay in the C64 one that grabs me more. 👍

@C64Reloaded The original International Karate is still a great game. I was amazed back then when I first played it. It was like the C64 had gone very quickly from having no good Karate Champ (arcade) clones, to Exploding Fist, to this. 😮 Them was great times. 😁
I like C64 Frak. Sure, the graphics are crazy-wide in this one, so you're throwing the yo-yo off-screen a lot at stuff you can't see. As a result I think it's not as good a game as it could have been. But if I were doing it, I'm not sure I could be bothered to re-work the gfx. 😋

Zone of Darkness - 1995 Cherry Software
A promising Flashback clone for the #C64 which featured an impressive intro sequence, but was cancelled due to the team going their separate ways. Test demo + graphic assets were recovered by GTW several years ago.

@Worrior110 I like it when they use the high-res 'monochrome' graphic modes. Not a common thing on the C64, but when it's done well it looks *really* good..
@C64TimeLine World Class was certainly the best version as far as realism was concerned. We now had real-world golf courses on our humble C64. 😮 It doesn't get any better than that right? It's definitely the logical evolution of the game. And it's still solid. I just prefer the first one. 😁
@000Angus000 F-15 Strike Eagle II was a really stunning early Amiga flight sim. But I think it took too many cues from its C64 predecessor in making things 'simple'. 🤔 They'd created a good flight world, but the controls felt wrong: like there was no inertia or gravity. 😐 Nice loading pic.
Monster Museum - 1989 Palace Software.
Cancelled #C64 arcade adventure with a Lara Croft'esq main character. Featuring lost tunes by the late Richard Joseph, the game was eventually dropped due to technical issues. Recovered and released by GTW in 2009.
