Weird,perhaps, but I love reading aloud in Irish (Kids arent in Gaelscoil but they tolerate me). are the go-to for bks as-gaelige. New version of an old fairytale Clusa Capaill an Ri is fab. They even have trnsltions of all your kids favourite bks 7/10

The are hard at it, recommending great books for the young readers in your life. The Boot series by illustrated by Ben Mantle are great fun for younger readers (6+) who love robots. Lots of gentle humour and great friendship themes too.

I often suggest trying something completely different after HP but wonderful like Wonder in fact! Or how about the Murder Most Unladylike books. Nevermoor for fantasy or Storm Keeper's Island - both terrific and great for this age.

I like the odd bit of glitter myself! How about pink sparkles and a bit of goth thrown in for good measure? The Isadora Moon books are great fun!

One of my favourite books to gift a new baby is Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes by Mem Fox and Helen Oxenbury - such a charming rhyming text and the illustrations are sublime. Avail in board book too.
