@aevris_ I have a few more Burgess Shale and Cambrian mons too!
stylized watercolour painting of an anomalocaris!!
Idk what colour they were so I gave it countershading and bright colouration bc i think it suits them and would probably work to their advantage

I'm begining a thread of paleoart of fossil pycnogonids because I've always wanted to draw them and since I'm doing a bibliographic work this semester on their evolution it's the perfect occasion !
First of the list, the swedish cambrian larva Cambropycnogon klausmuelleri
Definitely not what I was expecting
Looks like something weird from the Cambrian https://t.co/SYvJRat1iz
@Paleojim Some Cambrian contributions if you need them, Pahvantia hastata, Acrinocricus stichus, and Pseudoarctolepis sharpi
@IrvingForbush2 @BrianBrachiopod @FloJoHorman @MoffittJill @Drstevenhobbs @ScientistMel @FossilLocator @gunsnrosesgirl3 @TTDerandere @Bolshoibabushka @NotLordByron @RachelOsiris @Rainbow_Ark @spikesbuddy @JMPeck69 @keithmehl Fuxianhuia protensa ... very early Cambrian. Maybe 525 million years ago or earlier.
This art comes from a quite different part of the human brain than the brachiopod's cartoons ... but both are valid interpretations of the rare fossil evidence.

here's my new drawing of cambrian fauna, I tried to make it more dynamic but it turned into dead like me inside :)))
"Cambrian explosion in the style of Hieronymus Bosch" as generated by DreamStudio. Perhaps even more mindlessly experimental than the real thing was. Gives even the inscrutability of hallucigenia a run for its money.
Check it out! This is Innovatiocaris, a newly described genus of a radiodont from the Cambrian Chengjiang Lagerstätte in China. Radiodonts, like Anomalocaris, are incredibly rare making this fossil incredible.
