The Satinsky vascular clamp was created by American cardiothoracic surgeon Victor Paul Satinsky (1912-1997). After serving as a surgeon in WW2, he joined the Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia (which closed in 2019) and played a role in developing coronary bypass surgery!

Ornithischians breathed a bit like crocodiles, in that muscles originating on the pelvic girdle pulled on the thoracic peritoneum to generate negative pressure and draw in air (unlike us mammals, who use a diaphragm attached to the ribs to do the same). 🎨 from paper.

American surgeon Alfred Adson (1887-1951) pioneered neurosurgery at the Mayo Clinic. He described a manoeuvre and operation for thoracic outlet syndrome (aka Adson-Coffey syndrome). Numerous instruments are named for him, including Adson forceps!
