This is the CT-scanned skull of #Navajosphenodon sani, a 190 million-year-old tuatara relative from Arizona, USA. It shows that many tuatara features were already present at a time when dinosaurs were just hitting their stride. #FossilFriday #SciNews
Excuse me miss! What are you doing out of bed this late! 😳🐣

For today #FossilFriday I'm particularly excited to present you two stunning specimen of one of my absolute favourite dino: Allosaurus. In photo 1-2 we have A. jimmadseni, while in 3-4 A. fragilis.
The key to tell apart one specimen from the other is the shape of the jugal.

New #paleoart at #Patreon: Tyrannosaurus vs. polar bear vs. Andrewsarchus vs. @Gizz47 vs. Beau the greyhound. Who wins? Depends on what the competition is. Full-res and discussion here: https://t.co/RvUyIF6XxX. Oh, and I guess this'll work for #FossilFriday, too!
I wasn’t able to finish the original work I was doing for #DeinonychusDay (I’ll post it when I do!) so here’s some I made for a repeating design and never posted!
Happy #FossilFriday!

I have an addiction for SEA MONSTER DOLPHINS and sharks. So maybe we can talk about the Cauvery Basin and this ONE site called Karai where the waters were chilly in the Cenomanian and the sea was open and filled with sharks

A rare bird for #FossilFriday: Kurt Regschek's 'Urvogel (Archäopteryx)' (ca. 1955). Unfortunately for the select group of palaeontology-surrealism connoisseurs, this painting seems to have been auctioned off with little info.
