I've been trying to choose a solid workflow to use on current and upcoming painted commissions, since I've been super distracted by various interesting workflows. This is my favorite for now, and I'll stick with it :)

Hey man! I need to know about your workflow. Do you outline 3D models in a program and then use the light casting as a reference? Or instead, do you sketch a line-art paint greytones and use your own light source from mind?
If its the latter, how do you do it?

Took the trooper sculpt and tried some new workflows. High Poly/Low Poly/UVs completely with Houdini and SubstancePainter then quickly rigged with mixamo auto rigger and rendered in marmoset toolbag.
