My Favourite C64 Platformers No.1
Impossible Mission
Epyx 1983
My all-time favourite C64 game. When I first played it in 84 it blew my mind; the speech, animation, depth of gameplay was like nothing I'd ever seen. It still plays superbly today, and I still absolutely adore it.
My Favourite C64 Platformers No.3
Bruce Lee
Datasoft 1984
This combination of platforming, collecting, and beat ‘em up-ing is an absolute beauty. Like Lode Runner, graphics and sound are functional, but the design and gameplay are outstanding. A stone-cold classic.
My Favourite C64 Platformers No.6
Nebulus
Hewson 1987
Nebulus was absolutely stunning when first encountered in '87. The revolving tower, ace graphics, cool inter-level parallax scrolling shooter sections, its originality & superb design. Wow. An outstanding 80s platform game.
@Pro_1diot @xSARGx1 @KejoKove @FlareonLad @ApollaSpirit @ArtemisMagi @studiolittleink Thanks for the tag.
I'm Sam.
Game specialties are platformers, fighters, & MonHun Rise. I upload sessions & thinkpieces/discussion vids on YT & do a weekly social multiplayer stream.
It'd be nice to reach 100 YT subs & 10 average stream viewers in 2022
@PeytopBeBop @XanderTuring
It is very important that even if you don't like "Balan Wonderworld'', the citizens/villains of Wonderworld have great colorful designs.

@synicalbeanical @IchigooRamune hihiiii i'm the sleepy sheep goddess of dreams, Mizzy Søvn! It's a pleasure to meet you all, i hope to get to know some of you a bit better over time! I plan to stream a variety of games, most likely FPS, platformers and art/rigging streams
My Favourite C64 Platformers No.11
The Castles of Dr Creep
Broderbund 1984
A brilliantly atmospheric game, TCoDC is ace – check it out if you don't know it. A mix of platforming & puzzling, it has more depth than most examples of the genre & in 2 player mode it really shines.
My Favourite C64 Platformers No.12
Rick Dangerous
Firebird 1989
Notoriously brutal, Ricky D requires an excellent memory as well as quick reactions & pixel-perfect jumping skills. Inspired by Indiana Jones, it’s great fun, and has nice graphics and sound. Tough but rewarding.
My Favourite C64 Platformers No.15
Auf Wiedersehen Monty
Gremlin 1987
The sequel picks up where Monty on the Run left off & continues the flick-screen format of running, jumping & puzzle solving. Graphics are simple, but the soundtrack is brilliant and it’s instantly playable.
6. Dual Hearts
One of the most fun, energetic PS2 3D platformers I have ever played. Looking more like an RPG, Dual Hearts disguises itself as such to lure you into instead collecting items and experiencing a cute story with some fantastic moments.
My Favourite C64 Platformers No.16
Hercules
Interdisc 1984
Yes, the graphics are atrocious. And the sound is awful. But, play it for more than ten minutes, and you’ll be hooked. Brilliantly designed and super addictive, Hercules may look and sound 💩 but it plays brilliantly.
My Favourite C64 Platformers No.17
Jet Set Willy
Software Projects 1984
This early free-roaming platformer was also one of the first 64 games I played. Like the Speccy original, it's rather buggy, but good fun. Surreal, amusing, & yet oddly melancholic, it's certainly unique.
My Favourite C64 Platformers No.18
Booga-Boo The Flea
Quicksilva 1984
Another innovative game that involved lots of jumping, BB is a cool little title that I’ve always had a soft spot for as it was one of the first games I played on the C64. Simple but addictive and good fun.
My Favourite C64 Platformers No.20
Creatures 1/2 & Mayhem in Monsterland
Let me explain. These are clearly 3 of the 64's best platformers, but I never played them BITD. They’re all amazing, so I couldn’t not mention them, & if I'd had a 64 in the 90s, they’d all be top 5.
