I think it's time to go further with the material-change part of my mod, specially for ghost and metal Pokemon.

The NPCs from Story Mode appear in the game thanks to randomiser that puts together body parts. They generate each time Story is booted up, or new game starts. Only Texas, Minnesota, Madison, Cashmere, Stronghoof, Adobo, and salad deer have their own sprites.

To this day my favorite Gengar is still the one from the Gen 2 sprites. I love how it's pretty much just a looming silhouette with Gengar's signature facial expression, it's such an effective and elegant utilization of the design's simplicity

while trying to look up a specific game's sprite I just noticed that this bootleg mobile nintendo game went hard on its sprites.
Even using characters of a lot of franchises that i wish they would do more of like this (and non nintendo one's)
