8.) The surname Gwracham is a portmanteau of Gwrach (Welsh for witch) and ham (Saxon for settlement). My explanaition for this is that their ancestors were drafted to Wales and named their community after the term locals used to describe them.

Taliesin's Cad Goddeu (Battle of the Trees) describes a fight between Gwydion and the Welsh god of Annwn, Arawn, in which Gwydion brings the trees to life to fight for him. The fight breaks out after Amaethon steals a dog, a lapwing, and a roebuck from Arawn.
