4 underpaintings for this mucha-inspired painting series, the Seasons. Working really hard to get 4 distinct but cohesive palettes. Trying to get tweak the gestures and anatomy and we'll see how much detalis I get to add. Work in progress.

I know this struggle, I’ve been testing myself with doing underpaintings vs not doing them I’ve had mixed results. Ironically I’ve found a balance of painting watercolor over acrylic and digging the effect it gives off

1) Ink: Dong-A Fine Tech 0.3 Gray (Not waterproof at all haha)
2)Underpainting and skin
3)Base colors/Shade, shadow, and texture build-up
4)Details: Sakura Gelly Roll 05 and 08 (Colors enhanced digitally)

I used this illustration as practice for underpainting. So, the first layer was done only in Burnt Sienna, with other colors mixed on top at later stages.
