I am always astonished by the lush land of Costa Rica, and its abundance of tropical flora. Painting these vibrantly coloured plants and flowers from direct observation was a treat.

i can't stress enough on how much observation helped my art.
these two drawings in late 2018 were copied from existing drawings.

it helps to take note of proportions and compare their relative sizes, also angles and how everything lines up - i'll make a separate thread for this

Observational study on of my driveway/garage. We haven't done any gardening in so long that these vines have taken over the corner of the fence 😬 While this is definitely problematic and should be tended to ASAP, it made for a pretty interesting environment study.
