I have been trying to read The Fellowship of the Ring for at least two years now, most of it spent stalled at the same chapter halfway through it. I feel bad but man, those books have a lot of words.

Everyone here is so talented omfg. I'm Toad and I'm a self taught artist with a long way to go but will get there eventually; I draw loads of things from dnd, tolkien, and real life :^)

J.R.R. Tolkien's work inspired some great games in the golden era of ZX Spectrum - spent many happy hours playing these:

The Hobbit
The Lord of the Rings
War in Middle Earth

I absolutely love Latvian illustrator Laima Eglïte's Bilbo Baggins. He literally sparkles with life and has a Tookish spirit that leaps off of the page at you. Plus, he has John Lydon's hair. Here's four monochrome classics, circa 1991. Enjoy

Alors Maedhros est un des personnages principaux du Silmarillion de Tolkien.

C'est un Elfe.
Un Elda (ceux qui ont vu la lumière des Arbres).
Un Noldo.

Fils de Fëanor et Nerdanel.

helped me on this, based on her early concept art!

Fun fact: the T-Shirt logo is "Baileys" in Quenya, Tolkien's Elvish language.

“...Varda, Lady of the Stars, who knows all the regions of Eä. Too great is her beauty to be declared in the words of Men or of Elves; for the light of Ilúvatar lives still in her face. In light is her power and her joy.”

The last design I have made for I am not sure that it is the final design that I will use for the next illustrations, I think I'm not completely satisfied with the helmet and face...

Hey! Been re-reading the Hobbit, so I drew Bilbo Baggins. I don't know why, I just really like imagining him with glasses.
