Happy #FossilFriday!
In this week’s new video, we delve into the possible link between fossils and folklore.
We also take a detailed look at the famous in-game dragon skeletons to try and work out how they may have evolved!

Some fresh artwork I whipped up for Ali's new Biarmosuchian ontogeny paper (https://t.co/CigDXJfK2T)
Oh how I love therapsids :3
I wanted an organic way of contrasting the simple skulls of the baby biarmosuchians with the knobby adult skulls.
Enjoy!

I heard this week was #AnkylosaurWeek, so for #FossilFriday I've decided to share the latest versions of my ankylosaur-based fossil #fakemon. These Rock/Electric-types also take a few cues from the Sumerian storm god Ishkur, who is portrayed with bull horns and a mace! 🪨⚡️
For this #FossilFriday can't help but repost the review of Russian Paleoart Exhibition (in English).

The exhibition is open at @darwinmuseum.
The pic below is T. rex vs. Triceratops by Konstantin Flyorov and it alone makes the exhibition worth visiting.
Reading about the bite force of Homo floresiensis and being reminded that this face just makes me happy. #FossilFriday
Some moa (Dinornis) #paleoart from 2018 for #FossilFriday. Note the extreme sexual dimorphism of the two frontmost birds: that's real, not speculative. And no, I don't know what's happening to the right of this image. Possibly someone just opened a really big bag of birdseed.

A #FossilFriday outing for this pair. Painted for the Project:Tepui book, which will be out next year.
#FossilFriday Hexian 1, a Homo erectus skull dated to c. 412 ka - has two healed lesions with resorption and new bone formation on the back of the head, likely the result of trauma or burning (with damage to the scalp and superficial neurocranium). Source: https://t.co/3xLhcSCzFN
For #FossilFriday I’d like to spotlight paleoartist @ChrisDPiazza and his amazing artwork. The first being a #Guanlong pack being attacked by a #Sinraptor, and his artwork depicting a #mosasaur that was recently discovered in the Hell Creek Formation.
This #FossilFriday we move to Brazil to present Luzia (Lapa Vermelha IV Hominid 1), an 11.5kyo partial skeleton. Discovered in 1974 by A. Laming-Emperaire, its nickname is a direct reference to... the 'Lucy' nickname of AL-288-1 found the same year!

For #FossilFriday, here are a couple of FEA tests on the skulls of two small, early #tyrannosaurs, #Proceratosaurus and #Dilong. Special thanks to @RaulRamosArt and @Beast_SculptKit for sharing the 3D models! These models are also awesome!
Happy #fossilfriday! To celebrate the description of the new Marilia Formation unenlagiine, I've decided to base a piece of artwork on it! A Ypupiara lopai walks through the titanic pillar-like legs of an Aeolosaurus to hunt fish. Hope you enjoy!

For #FossilFriday, from the Lower Callovian (Middle Jurassic) of Voulte-sur-Rhône in France, Proteroctopus ribeti, described in 1982.
Last up for today's #paleoart at #Patreon #FossilFriday extravaganza: a high-res version of my PR art for last week's hatchling pterosaur paper is now available. It shows, obviously, the terrific Pterodaustro - one of the best flying reptiles, surely. https://t.co/Ar9owkZRKB
