Day 18: A dino in a possible niche it could belong
Here’s basal sauropodomorph Saturnalia tupiniquim in the role of gregarious active omnivore, much like a guineafowl.

A quick study of a basal sauropodomorph skull lying on a desert during the Late Triassic! #FossilFriday
Snapshot 20w15a is pretty rad.
I threw together a quick demo showcasing the some of the new blocks, and the new biome (Basalt Delta).
The Delta is a lovely landscape and home to magma cubes.
The Blackstone block will be great for Gothic builds, and Quartz bricks make a good trim
Working on a concept of the next thing I’m going to model. This is a weapon in my dnd campaign the PCs are searching for. Essentially a giant hammer that appears to be hewn of basalt, steel, and obsidian. Excited to model it.
i fixed the "polished basalt" and i actually thought that it could be more of a basalt pillar and have polished basalt be consistent with the stone variants
A very quick reconstruction of Oculudentavis, newly described as a hummingbird-sized early bird, based on a tiny head preserved in amber.
There’s uncertainty what kind of animal it actually was, but this is based on it being extremely basal bird, sort of like a miniature raptor.
basal + ex again ..im just floored to find a picrew that has sparse eyebrows tbh

Sea spiders (Pycnogonida) shared unsual body plan that their bodies are almost just legs, even their guts were branched and associated within each of them. They are not spiders nor even arachnids, instead they most likely arose from a very basal chelicerate lineage.

I worked on one of the Effigia sketches (left) I drew a couple of weeks ago, and added here to a plate also depicting Qianosuchus (sketch, top right), a basal poposauroid, and the foot of Poposaurus (bottom right). These are not dinosaurs but #pseudosuchians #paleoart #sciart

Caviramus - one of numerous, stunning Late Triassic basal pterosaurs. #sciart #myart #palaeoart
And here is the second basal pterosaur - like anyone, I don't think I wrapped my head around their terrestrial locomotion.
