I’ve been reading #DragonBallZ and also books about octopus, so today I sketched an imaginary fight between two octopus as if they were DBZ characters. They’re cephalopods, not fish, but I was pleased to see that it intersected with today’s #SundayFishSketch #Fishytheme fight!
New work! Exploring some unknown territories. Do you think it would make a nice print? 😀🐟 #SundayFishSketch #sundayvibes
Synanceia alula and Hippocampus bargibanti face off in the hide and seek championships to see who has the best camouflage. #SundayFishSketch
New on the Node: #SciArt Profiles - Sydney Wyatt
@srwyatt42 (PhD student in Draper Lab @UCDavisGenetics) shares her art and science with us. Digital art (🐟🌸🐦) is a quick outlet for her to help avoid burnout

The bowmouth guitarfish is this week’s #sundayfishsketch
This ray gives live birth to its young, and is critically endangered due to habitat loss and fisheries.
Off-theme #SundayFishSketch of some Yellowfin Shiners. One of my favorite native fishes because of their wide range of colorations during spawning season. I’ve seen all red ones, very yellow males, and all the mixes in between!
#SundayFishSketch Repost. Pink whiprays using the Rayft share service provided by smalleye stingray. Definitely a five ⭐ service.

My entry for #SundayFishSketch: Narcine genus all of them, plus Awaous banana #watercolor painting #sciart #fishsci
Thank you so much for the support in the last tweet, this is a paleoartwork that I did for a contest on IG: Tepexichthys aranguthyorum from the Tlayúa Formation, Tepexi de Rodríguez, Puebla, Mexico #fossilfriday #fishyfriday #fishsci #paleoart #SundayFishSketch
Thaumatichthys for a fashionably late #SundayFishSketch! This thing is just the best- it feeds on sea cucumbers and rotting seaweed and floats around pointing vertically, pointing straight down towards the seafloor. It's my favorite deep-sea fish, and I just love how weird it is!
Matilda took more time on this than any other #SundayFishSketch
This isn’t the first time that she’s traced an image for the outline, but this is the most careful that she has been.
Not sure if im doing this right, but i drew Groenlandaspis for #SundayFishSketch
Again... these aren’t new... but here are my #anglerfish for the #sundayfishsketch
Deep sea anglerfish, like Bufoceratias wedli, are known for their lures (called esca). The ends of these lures are filled with bioluminescent bacteria that glow in the darkness of the deep sea, attracting prey to within striking range of its razor-sharp teeth #SundayFishSketch
Two entries for this week's #SundayFishSketch to make up for the lack of colour!
I just learned about @Lampichthys #SundayFishSketch and was so excited I had to do it a day early. this weeks prompt was “Anglerfish”.
Going for a cut paper style in procreate; a handsome warty boi (A. maculatus):

Watercolor of a Clown Triggerfish for this #Sundayfishsketch. I have never sketched Triggerfishes (Balistidae) or Filefishes (Monacanthidae) so the #fishytheme of “Pick a species of triggerfish or filefish and draw away” was a real challenge for me. #sciart
In typical Matilda fashion, having been excited to draw a triggerfish for today’s #Sundayfishsketch she then changed her mind and has now done a yelloweye filefish.
