Hand number 46 ... still going strong!! 🙈 more subsurface scattering today.

@Tallinier @cyborgianheart Even the subsurface scattering on the ears? Your work is astounding!
Quick hand study from photograph to practice painting subsurface scattering 🥰
Some work for @Elderac for a story he's been working on, A Scattering of Stardust. 🌟💫

is subsurface scattering going a little bit overboard? maaybe
Last week in #GSoC, we mainly worked on procedural textures, implementing White Noise, 1D, 2D, #b3d, and 4D versions of Voronoi, smooth F1 Voronoi, Voronoi cell positions, distance to voronoi cell edges, Value Noise, texture scattering and more! Report:

It has been done.

I'll be scattering my work for
#TheLegendofKingArthurChallenge on my other accounts at my leisure.
Really liking the sub-surface scattering effect I got. I keep feeling like I have to use more and more complicated techniques to make better art, but honestly sometimes just good ol' multiply and overlay layers look better.
Doing #JuneStudyJam from @ArtCampOfficial . Here is my first, hand study. Trying to understand how light interacts with skin and subsurface scattering. About 1.5 hours
Previous artwork, 'Beyond The Glass' (https://t.co/v08mvzxT89)
an attempt to make a story by scattering clues and hints all over the image so that audience could guess their own version of the story.
@CatlinNyaa @jdrive319 @PepeBismarck @ThGoodestOfBoys "The Earth may look curved, as we can't see that building across Lake Michigan, but that can be adequately explained by Atmospheric Scattering and not any other factors, which I will reject outright because they don't confirm my already-decided conclusion."
I'm scattering little optional games and challenges around the maps.

@LaurenBlakeArt I take ANY chance I can get to go all out with the subsurface scattering on dragon wings... it's getting to the point where it's a little ridiculous, honestly. (I feel like I'll be found out at any moment...!)
Ported the fake subsurface scattering #shader from #threejs to #Processing. It requieres baking a thickness texture, but might be useful in some scenario
Sliding into #MolluskMonday with another bobtail squid who loves 90's pizza/paint parties.
For real though, octopus skin is full of stretchy sacs of color (chromatophores), stacks of reflective plates (iridophores), and light-scattering patches (leucophores). It's insane!

The last part of this is that this whole time I've been multiplying ambient occlusion over the diffuse as part of the bake process. Twist!
Tint the AO pink, and keep it light, to bake more of that faux back scattering SSS into the vertex colours.
Enjoy that juicy salmon.
