Clark losing his powers wasn't a new idea at the time (see Final Night), but the One Year Later arc of Action and Superman (2006) of Clark thriving without them while they slowly come back on their own is pretty great

Clark/Kal and his story as an immigrant, as the last son of Krypton is suppose to resonate with the modern times. He is suppose to be the MAN of TOMORROW, the People’s Champion. But instead we have now Clark/Kal safe guarding old, outdated status quos. This is a big no for me.
