Elephantimorphs look normal to us today, but they're really bizarre in comparison to the basal members of Proboscidea. Eritherium, on the right, for example looks much like a hippo against my old mastodon design.

Is this piece poorly timed in the light of current events? Maybe. Could I resist following up on this Rambo/type 6 secretion system Tit-for-Tat killing idea that I had bouncing around? Absolutely not. #SciArt
Delighted to have just finished my brand new picture book. Get ready for one of the most sophisticated and beautiful freshwater predators on Earth. I'll have it out in early spring. 😀

Feathered creatures are among my absolutely favorite animals to draw. In 2019 I enjoyed studying the incredible variety and colors of marine and forest birds across our continent. #sciart #scicomm #mondaythoughts
This is my last piece of #paleoart of 2019. A #Triceratops horridus and a #Tyrannosaurus rex. Probably the two most well recognized dinosaurs. #paleontology #SciArt
Day 7 of #dinocember. Theme: Borealopelta. I was not at all in the mood to draw one so I killed, halved and silhouetted it. As one does.. (Istiodactyls and Deinonychus feed on its corpse). #sciart #paleoart
I had some much fun drawing various marine characters throughout this year and will certainly continue this tradition in 2020😀 A quick overview of some aquatic illustrations I've done in 2019. #SundayFishSketch #sciart #scicomm
