As I continue this project, two clear directions are emerging. The moodier, fuller portraits with jumbles of frenzied scribbles, angular lines & flying particles; then these strange floating glassy-eyed heads, still, inward & quietly humorous...

Her dress is this glassy chainmail. For the hair I’m using c4d hair + the new octane 2020 hair material but there’s no documentation for it so idk how to use all its features. Posting these crops because detail is lost at its full scale when posting.

'Sabrina Fair,
Listen where thou art sitting
Under the glassy, cool, translucent wave,
In twisted braids of lilies knitting
The loose train of thy amber - dropping hair
Listen for dear honor's sake, goddess of the silver lake.'
(John Milton/Sulamith Wulfgang)

Recollection raised
in your closed glassy eyes due,
tears crystalline blue.

Wishes in a card,
devil's birthday message sent,
any wrapped regrets?

Sealed dreams fanciful,
with the kiss of life come true,
paper gifts delude.

Bagged party memories.

Starting a new series of the first of which is 'The Mirror of Venus' by Burne-Jones (1875, Calouste Gulbenkian Museum) with all of its serene, glassy and ethereal beauty. Alas a difficult one to recreate during times of social distancing! ;-)
