Word of the day: Grisaille

I do it to know where my lights and shadows go
and to make the painting show subtle temperature changes

I was inspired by old anime monochromatic scenes.. and a lot of Detective Conan monochromatic artworks

I know this struggle, I’ve been testing myself with doing underpaintings vs not doing them I’ve had mixed results. Ironically I’ve found a balance of painting watercolor over acrylic and digging the effect it gives off
