I've finished the background & I'm currently working on the underpainting. This is inspired by one of my fave fairy tales.

im trying that technique where you force yourself to do a greyscale underpainting for the values

Decided to go with green one. Might regret that 😉. Clouds are in and working out the underpainting.

Been experimenting with small floral paintings using the same pastel technique I have used for landscapes recently. Been fun playing around with the underpainting colours and seeing what happens.

Two views of Sutton Bank and one heading towards Rosedale, just underpaintings but heading in the right direction (hopefully)

Created a character, coloured in PS now doing a traditional acrylic painting using the same technique but with old SKOOL materials 🙌 Just in the process of doing the burnt umber underpainting 🎨 (colours in 1st are WHACK cuz of the screen throwing things!)

The start of my (apparently annual) foray into canvas work. It really is fun to change it up and remember how different oils and acrylics are to my everyday watercolours.

also comparing the finished thing and the sketch (underpainting? idk what it's called) is always downright therapeutic tbh
even if some things look better on the sketch oops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

is finished! Went for a big bristle brunch and softened: sometimes details obscure-so many little details and then it becomes a mess of details

I wanted the colors for this image to be as bright as possible, so I forwent the grayscale underpainting that I did for the other's in this series. I think It gave it a sort of oil-pastel/Van Gogh look to some things. Regardless, I LOVE how Horus Bowie's wings came out!

Meant to share this on Tuesday, but after the events of Monday I was hesitant. This is the completed underpainting that I did for a Carmen Sandiego-inspired piece for the Where In The World exhibit at .

Yes, it's another one of my traveler/destination pieces.😋
