When Henry Brouncker (cofferer to Charles II) died in 1688, he bequeathed Sheen Abbey to Sir Charles Lyttelton (1629–1716) (colonial governor/politician), not because they were related, but because they had fought together at the Siege of Colchester (1648)

"Mosaic of the Wrestling Cupids", was created about 175 AD. It was excavated in 1979 from a large Roman house just outside the town wall. Sadly parts have been lost over time, but this drawing fills in a few of those gaps.
