The most common hadrosaur from Arctic, Edmontosaurus from North Slope Alaska. Closely related Kamuysaurus from Hokkaido (Kobayashi et al 2019). These dinos support land bridge model btwn Asia and No Am. More on Japanese hadrosaurs and biogeog soon!

Some progress on my Edmontosaurus piece, I don't have enough strength to do the scales by hand for this one 😭

Here's a view of the still-to-be-finished Multibody dynamics model of the fantastic Edmontosaurus with my 3D Eddie pals circa 2012. Was there mandible roll? was there palatal movement? both? neither?

“Young and Unwary”
A recent acrylic painting of a pair of juvenile Edmontosaurs playing, unaware of a subadult Tyrannosaurus stalking them.

The Knight piece is based on his Edmontosaurus annectens painting. Since my Late Cretaceous boss fight piece for this was pretty much the entry I decided to mash these two up by just adding the meteor to prompt

This is a colored drawing of an Edmontosaurus regalis running I made earlier today.

Fun Fact: In 2014 researchers found an Edmontosaurus regalis in western Canada that has a cockscomb of mummified flesh, like what you'd see on a rooster. This is a structure nobody knew the dinosaur had. Art by Davide Bonadonna. 🤓🦖

Dinosaurs did it first.

Edmontosaurus regalis meaning ”lizard from Edmonton” is a species of comb-crested hadrosaurid (duck-billed) dinosaur. The first Edmontosaurus regalis fossils were discovered in 1916 by George F. Sternberg, in the Horseshoe Canyon Formation along the Red Deer River

Edmontosaurus was part of a group of dinosaurs called the Hadrosaurs. One species, E. regalis, sported a fleshy “crest”! We have many well-preserved specimens of this charming dino, even possibly preserving their patterning!

Hadrosaurs, eh? For Dinovember last year I drew an Edmontosaurus with speculative hooves, as well as my very favourite dino of all time, Parasaurolophus. 💚
