Blessed Imbolc everyone

Imbolc is a pagan celebration of goddess Brigid
A way to celebrate is by decorating your altar with things that represent Brigid; a corn husk doll, white flowers, a bowl of milk & candles

February 1st is the Feast day of St. Brigid (Bridget) of Kildare. The Abbess who shares her name with the Celtic Goddess. Traditionally, it was the feast of Imbolc, the first day of spring. St.Bridgit's cross was the symbol of Ireland's national broadcaster RTÉ

Imbolc means in the belly of the Mother because that is where seeds are beginning to stir as it is Spring. This holiday is especially sacred to the Celtic Fire Goddess, Brigit, patron of smithcraft, healing, midwifery, and poetry. [Art by Natasallincic]

Since it is Imbolc this week, I thought I would focus on Celtic art and art inspired by Celtic lore.

Thought I’d share my other Irish Mythology/folklore illustrations ahead of tomorrow’s new work. Up first Saint Brigid, Ireland’s other Patron Saint. Celebrated each year at Imbolc - the 1st February. (Digital work & printed version)
