Fantasy art doesn’t get any more fantastical than the beautiful “Bilbo Comes to the Huts of the Raft Elves,” by JRR Tolkien. I love seeing how he envisioned his world, and his art really captures the tone of his writing

My friend asked me for a sketch prompt idea after suggesting I draw my take on Beorn. As he did, I used Tolkien’s words to inform my design choices. I asked him to give us his take on Treebeard.

⚔️Sauron has yet to reveal his most deadliest servant, the one who will lead Mordor's armies. The one they claim no living man can kill. The Witch-King of Angmar. He is the Lord of the Nazgul, greatest of the Nine. Minas Morgul is his lair🎨Maximiliano Moretto⚔️#JrrTolkien

I remember being petrified, yet mesmerized… 😳 It also had an important impact on how I visualized ME and its inhabitants - both the fair and not-so-fair kind. “THE HOBBIT Cartoon From the '70s Is Pure Nightmare Town” https://t.co/8yUAg4uJih

AZOG, The Defiler

Re-visualized a scene from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and made an illustration out of it. It was the scene where Azog killed Thror during the Battle of Azanulbizar.

Here's my Thranduil illustration. Any Tolkien fans out there? I guess I'll be doing more Tolkien characters soon. Wish me luck. 😁
