Good morning!
The word tomato started out as tomate in English around 1600, from the Spanish word that came from the Nahuatl "TOMATL", language of the powerful Aztecs.

For years scholars struggled with the #Nahuatl term #ixiptla - representative, delegate, substitute, image, impersonator, likeness, representation, character, localised/deity embodiment, god presenter...
They were key to #Aztec/#Mexica human sacrifices -

One of the privileges of the elders was the free consume of alcoholic beverages.
The Nahuatl word for "old woman" is ilama, while "old man" is said huehue. Cihtli means "grandmother", and colli is "grandfather", although they can also be called "mother" and "father"
We want to show you a preview of the legendary creature, Ahuizotl. "Espinoso de agua '', as its name means in Nahuatl, which is sometimes related to the otter or the water dog, was a creature of the Mexica mythology.

According to the Nahua mythology, it is believed that the Ixpuxtequi was one of the four deities of death, dwellers of the underworld. His name means “scarred face'' and it comes from Nahuatl. He is represented as an anthropomorphic creature, with eagle feet.
#Coatlicue from #Aztec #mythology for #mythicmay for those curious its pronounced co-at-LEE-kway or so I've been lead to believe if anyone speaks Nahuatl please let me know ,and also you're awsome

@VTuberOfTheDay Hellooo my name is cece. Still just a png streamer but been streaming for about 4 or 5 years. My oc is a representation of me !!(: “Tochtli” means rabbit in the Nahuatl language and I like to make people laugh !(:
"Xōchihuah" fascinates me. The term is used as an insult, a name, and as a word for queer men, translating to "flower bearer/owner" in Nahuatl.
Special thanks to @Zotzcomic and @GaelleAvril for 99% of the inspiration, color studies, and references I used for this ✨😌💖
More on 4 in #Mexica/#Aztec worldview:-
In the story of the discovery of #pulque (octli in #Nahuatl) by #Mayahuel (pictured), in the feast that follows, the elders all drink 4 cups, except the leader of the #Huastecs, who drinks 5. Learn his fate here...! https://t.co/jVDjU4Lj2u
