I've felt that at times but I figured out a way around September. I use white (+another colour, usually yellow) chalk pastels over completed and sealed watercolor to create glowing light.
I'm still jealous of the sharp lines though-

Had a lovely playing around with pastels and pottering in the back garden. Here's Sophie digging up the sweet peas and in the paddling pool. The last one is of Ann, my new neighbour sat outside her house with a big glass of wine during our distant street party.
