image 1 broken down to a few values. Hard to recognize a silhouette of your character.
image 2 shows it even better.
image 3 is a super quick change, how it could be a bit better.
image 4 with value test. And try to avoid even shapes and masses 🙂

If you crank up the specular value, it turns the base color dark and we don't want that.

So, the trick is to connect the highlights to a file node and then just raise the exposure level up to a value of, say, 5 or so.

That way, you can have low specular values and this!

Thanks! I'd say the foundation of environments is learning how to manage values and composition. Black and white studies are a good place to start. Rendering & color are important, but secondary.
