I was thinking about why SF Mega Man was named Geo Stelar outside of Japan. I initially assumed it was just "Earth and stars" to reference the space themes, but then I realized Geo is another way of making his name "Rock"
The localizers made his name "Rock Star", and I love it.
A lot of people also tout the sucktastic NA box art of Megaman 1/2 but nobody ever points out how 3-8 had him slowly transform from a goblin-faced, overly detailed version of the original to the actual original Rockman like the localizers were dragged into it kicking & screaming

The localizers of Suikoden V once appeared on the now-defunct Due Fiumi forums and explained this change was because there are no western female names ending with O.

I absolutely love Yokai Watch, there are such fun character designs and personalities (and I am an absolute sucker for mascots which they have PLENTY of). Really hope the Yokai Watch 4 gets localized!!

The first three games are localized here in the west, and they even have downloadable demos for the first two on the eShop!
