@HunterBahamut0 What? Are you saying that you don't know this awesome fossil Pokemon??
For a short time, during the earliest Triassic, some parts of the world belonged to the #therocephalians. Here for #FossilFriday I have reconstructed the large-sized Moschorhinus. It is defending its recent kill, a Lystrosaurus, from a group of Tetracynodon #paleoart #sciart
For #FossilFriday, here's 2016 #paleoart of Spinolestes, an exceptionally well-known Cretaceous mammal from Spain. We know a lot about its skin and fur (except on the tail - the bushiness shown here is speculation) and also the shape of its ear pinnae, which makes me very happy.
Ammonite from a (mud) beach in Somerset... beautiful iridescence, but quite fragile #FossilFriday
Waiting #iceado teaser... fossilization process 👌

Worked on some 3D scans of the #fossil pinniped Allodesmus kernensis today. Slowly getting through all of the data I collected in the USA.
Just past the unusually blunt, peg-like teeth, the jaws curve away from each other. One fossil (the "Painten Pelican") suggests a rounded structure may have covered this gap. 2 bony crests on the head may have been joined & extended in life by soft tissue, as shown. #paleoart
New sauropod dinosaur w/super long cervical neural spines! Very cool, but important to note only one long-spined vertebra is preserved--most of neck reconstruction is hypothetical (although plausible). Great skull w/this fossil, also...lots of useful data!

A admirer of U-Haul graphics asked me about the details that went into even the smallest areas in each graphic. #paleontologist #paleontology #panda #redpanda #science #illustrator #adobeillustrator #Tennessee #fossils #excavations #illustration #vectorart #vector #vehiclewrap
February 3, 1790, birthday of British geologist Gideon Algernon Mantell who was puzzled by strange fossil bones he found https://t.co/KXxcqDT5pG Famous for the scientific description of the first herbivorous dinosaur - Iguanodon - a genus of this group was named after him
Spending my #FossilFriday with Hyopsodus! These little monsters were especially abundant in the animal communities you'd come across if you were roaming around Wyoming 48 million years ago

The 7th World Military Games will be held in #Wuhan this year. It is the mascot of the Game, who is called “Bingbing”. Chinese sturgeon, reputed as the living fossil in the water, was taken as the prototype for its design. Is it lovely? #VisitWuhan
The pupils of living cephalopods can range from circles, to rectangles, to more complex "W" shapes. Here, I've gone with a totally speculative "lute" shape, just for kicks. Happy #FossilFriday everybody! Have a great weekend #paleoart #Nipponites #ammonite #cephalopod #sciart
My latest paper (and first on mosasaurs) is finally out this week in Alcheringa! Taxonomy and historical inertia: Clidastes as a case study of problematic

Finally, for #FossilFriday here is my reconstruction of the fossil site Artazu VIII (Basque Country) for the Ph.D. Thesis of @aitziber_suarez: Coelodonta antiquitatis and Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax.
