Ignych is a combination of "Ignite" and the Greek word "Nychos" (Claw).

Nychos is based on Afrovenator, a Megalosaurid theropod that lived in Middle Jurassic period in Africa, hell even its name translates to "African Hunter". It also draws minor inspiration from Dracovenator.

The skull from Florisbad, South Africa, is a particular frustration for me. An effort to date the specimen made it a possible contemporary of but natural uranium concentration of hot spring peats likely makes this unreliable.
