This time I remembered to save my step-by-step process for how I do my conversions; Resize image - Trace linework - Clean up the pixel linework - Choose base colors - Basic shading and place-mark details - Details and shading/dithering.

How about a little comparison between the and ports of Code Veronica (both 480i). Even though the PS2 is much sharper, I kind of prefer the smooth look of the DC's textures. Also, note the dithering, possibly thanks to a lower color depth on DC.

this month's pixel piece. i wanted to take a shot at making a talk sprite for my Stardew Valley character + a few expressions. i'm not super satisfied with it, there's a lot about the style i couldn't figure out (colors? so much dithering??). maybe i'll rework them someday

I did one really quick with one of my paintings to show you how you can use it/results 😄 You can play around with the other settings too, but I normally use 'pattern' as the dithering and mostly tweak the # of colours. It's really fun to play around with!
