I don't read new comics anymore, but I just stumbled across Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons ("And the clunkiest title of the year award goes to...") and holy crap, it's crazy ambitious. So savage, I'm sad that eventually it'll have superheroes in it.
(And it redeems Hera!)

Zeus wife Hera had a dislike for Heracles and say "what if I make him kill his family to make his life in living hell?" She basically pull a Ares card and put Heracles into madness to kill his family. When I say this story was inspired by God of War it doesn't lie.
