For the #StPattysDay Ireland-themed #SundayFishSketch I present you the Common Bream. This freshwater cyprinid is a sturdy fish, common but often overlooked. I invite you to search for underwater picture, to see this beauty in action! #fishart #sciart #fishsci
For this week's #SundayFishSketch, I started to draw a Yellowhead Jawfish. I saw this fish for the first time at the @zooberlin aquarium and watched them build their burrows for longer than was probably necessary. #SciArt #digitalpainting
For today's #SundayFishSketch, I chose to play with @adobefresco again and add another set of jaws to my growing cartoon diagram. Here are the jaws of Neoclinus blanchardi, the sarcastic fringehead! #SciArt #Ichthyology #FishSci
Hey, #sundayfishsketch followers @ldsoa is having the 2020 University of Georgia and Augusta University Student Science and Medical Illustration Juried Exhibition until March 27th. Check it out if you are in the Athens, Ga area.
Loved the crayfish!❤❤❤ #scicomm #sciart
A few of the fish I’ve finished recently for my upcoming book... not sure if any fit this week’s #SundayFishSketch theme though.
Off-theme #SundayFishSketch inspired by @letminn0w and @DocHollandD: koi-patterned Gyarados.
All dogs are actually wolves! So for the doggo themed #SundayFishSketch, I added to my growing diagrams of fish jaws with Anarrhichthys ocellatus, a wolf eel! #Dog #Doggo #WolfEel #FishSci @adobefresco #SciArt
Happy #ValentinesDay #SundayFishSketch! I recently did some fishy outreach on ‘unique fish reproduction strategies (e.g. hermaphroditism, semelparity, mouthbrooding) and I think it’s a fitting theme for this weekend. Go eat some chocolate and sketch a fish. #fishyfriday #sciart
#SundayFishSketch: Testing a new sketchbook with Thalassoma lunatum and not happy with the result. That’s part of the game 🤷♂️
It's a free for all for today's #SundayFishSketch. I wanted to play with #AdobeFresco, so I messed around with some of my cleared and stained images and focused on fish jaws. Here are the jaws of three different fishes. The Caquetaia was from several weeks ago. #ichthyology
Our 15-month old makes #SundayFishSketch...interesting. She’s just getting into crayons, so I color with her.
I get about 25 seconds for each sketch before she takes over.
She also randomly swaps crayons with me every few seconds (so lots of colors each fish)🐟🖍
My #SundayFishSketch this week is the eastern spiny gurnard. This species is endemic to the #estuaries and coastal waters of southern #Australia. #fish #biodiversity #reefs #oceans #SciArt #scicomm
Brown Bullhead, wetland resident for #SundayFishSketch and #WorldWetlandsDay
since my fishfriday had to be postponed, i turned it into a #sundayfishsketch of sinoszechuanaspis. I am wondering why people dont use paleozoic fish more often in spaceship designs.
Family fishing and fest on Salvelinus fontinalis #sundayfishsketch #teamfish #sciart #acrylicpainting it’s been an eternity since I’ve touch some brush and canevas....
My first crack at watercolour with this Perch for #SundayFishSketch
Super late #SundayFishSketch: Scaturignichthys vermeilipinnis is a small, critically endangered fish from #Australia, found in only a few small shallow springs in Bush Heritage's Edgbaston Reserve #sciart #scicomm
Yellowfin tuna! Thunnus albacares. Their range includes the Australian waters, so it fits the theme for this week's #SundayFishSketch. 🐟 #SciArt
