By gum, it's 19:35 on #FossilFriday: time to call it a day. Here's some 2016 #paleoart of the Cretaceous mammal Spinolestes to sign off for the weekend with. The fluffy tails are speculative, but the other soft-tissues are evidenced by fossil data.
#AnimalArtistsUnite Hi, I’m Tyler! I draw (and occasionally animate) extinct animals, particularly aquatic ones. My work has most recently appeared on the cover of/in press material for the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology. I’m always open to commissions - DM me for info!
Here's some stuff. As you can see, my work is mostly paleontology related, with a focus on Tyrannosaurus rex and Allosaurs fragilis/jimmadseni lol. #AnimalArtistsUnite
I’ve had the idea for a plesiosaur in mangroves for a very long time now, And I’ve attempted it many times. Here is one of those attempts that I did in 2017. I even asked @JoschuaKnuppe to paint it during one of his very first paleostreams.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I've been thinking a lot about spinosaurus lately and wanted to do a little study after stuffing my face with some pie.

@reimenayee Yes please! I have a STEM degree as well (engineering), but I adore working with biology and paleontology!
Unlike its close relative the plate-backed Stegosaurus, Kentrosaurus sported a paired set of spikes on its back. Its shoulders were also armed with similar spikes, which were likely used for self-defense.

Research by #mczvertpaleo brings us 'one step' closer to unraveling the tetrapod transition to land. Study shows that changes to the #humerus bone at the origin of limbs altered its function & improved the capacity for limb-based land locomotion. @nature https://t.co/s6mMDqYOU2
Parasaurolophus Print Presale is live! This is one of my most requested dinosaurs, so I welcomed an excuse to return to one of my all-time favorites from the Mesozoic.
As an added bonus, I'm offering 20% off all items in my shop until Dec 2! #paleoart

Morning warmup speedpaint/sketch. Suminia, one of my favorite therapsids. Suminia was a small arboreal anomodontian therapsid (so distantly related to us mammals) that lived during the Late Permian in Europe #paleoart #sciart #synapsids
