I totally miss the 1970s Martial Arts Ballet genre.
This issue of Power Man Iron Fist was the first part of the Swan Luke Saga, which carried over into Howard the Duck's infamous The Nutquaker graphic novel.

Anyone know where this panel came from? - I got the image from facebook but can’t recall - it certainly looks like ditko from a charlton comic in the 1970s, I’d guess - so I’m gonna say it’s after steve ditko anyway - I’d like to read the rest of the story, if anyone does know...
@finnaboo Hey, I'm Elliot and I'm a man of many hats when it comes to style, but I mainly do 1970s inspired cartoon art and semi realistic paintings.
I will forever defend Chuck Jones' 1970s TV specials 'till the cows come home
say what you want about the Looney Tunes stuff, but his literature adaptations showcase his personality in a way the WB cartoons couldn't, and his drive for experimentation and respectful adaptation.
Works by American artist Napoleon Jones-Henderson, 1970s. Known for his large-scale textile pieces about Black liberation, he was an early member of AfriCOBRA (African Commune of Bad Relevant Artists) in Chicago

I find it so fascinating how the 1970s is considered the least memorable era for TV animation. It's not that anything came out, it's just barely anything of note came out.
Hanna Barbera put out over 50 cartoons in the 70s, and only 3 or 4 have left some sort of cultural impact.
KNM-ER 992 was one of the #hominin fossils discovered by Richard Leakey's field team that were claimed as holotypes for species named by other scientists: in this case Homo ergaster. This "taxonomic scramble" of the 1970s and 1980s left a harmful legacy in #paleoanthropology
