Both from the Missouri River basin, 66 million years apart!

Being busy with work and family life makes me ‘petrified’ that I’ll never be able to go SCUBA diving abroad again, where I might catch a glimpse of this Caribbean reef squid. 🦑 😱 🤿 #SundayFishSketch #Squidtember
Like @Lampichthys, I also have a dissertation that needs writing, so drawing time is at a premium.
Didn't finish this week's #SundayFishSketch so enjoy these process pictures of a shortnose gar!
#SundayFishSketch the cutest of all, the snowflake moray (Echidna nebulosa)
#SundayFishSketch off theme. Tried to show the 3 colour morphs of Leopard cat sharks Poroderma pantherinum. Top to bottom- salt and pepper variety, Normal variety ( rosettes and stripes) and marleyi variety ( rosettes).
A goldeye for this week's #SundayFishSketch. Definitely not a hoax, because I actually got to add this species to my life list this week!
(Make sure to get a look at those tongue teeth)
A Megladon sketch for today's #SundayFishSketch and #SciArtSeptember theme. The hoax being that people think they are still alive today.
Late night #SundayFishSketch. This week's theme is "hard-working fishes". Great White Sharks have some of the longest migrations (distance-wise) of any shark species. Individuals have been documented travelling from South Africa to Australia and back again.
Off theme #SundayFishSketch but #SciArtSeptember. 1. Survivor, 2 Monstrous, 3. Captive, 4. Schooling. Had to play quick catch up today. Will try and fit all 30 images onto this page.
The hardworking male White-Spotted Pufferfish (T. albomaculosus) is famous for creating geometric nests in the sand to attract a mate and shelter its eggs. Some nests may take over a week to create, with stunning results.

Finally had time to pick this back up! Kelp Paddies often provide shelter for growing kelp forest denizens too! It's common to see them surrounded by a multitude of small fish. In the open ocean, nearly anything can be shelter! #sciart #SundayFishSketch #WhaleDayFriday

A little Longfin African conger (Conger cinereus)
It's called "Congre à moustache" in French aka mustache conger and i love it
#WhaleDayFriday #SundayFishSketch - Welcome to one of my favorite micro-biomes, the Kelp Paddy! These can occur any time kelp is dislodged, whether because of storms, hot weather, or urchin disturbance. They play a vital role in acting as rest-stops for birds and large fish-
Hey, it's my first #SundayFishSketch! This week it's a crossover with #InverteFest and I decided to draw a #Zebrafish larva hunting a UV-bright paramecium. It's a bit of a stretch but it's not like paramecia have a backbone anyway😬

Oh heck yes it’s #invert week with #SundayFishSketch ! Diamondback squid here. Their pointy red shape reminds me of gnomes.
A Coal Grunter about to dine on prawn for #SundayFishSketch #Fishytheme feat. a fish & their invertebrate prey. They’re predatory fish & particularly dig prawns. It was suggested a while back to draw this Australian freshwater fish by a fan of my art. #InverteFest @NiloSinnatamby
Hey all, I know I said I would paint a shark for reaching 400, and this is all I could muster lately so I'm sorry it's late! But here it is, also counts for #SundayFishSketch.
Ref is from The Encyclopedia of Sharks by Steve Parker!
Well everyone here we go - #WhaleDayFriday AND #SundayFishSketch, the crossover episode (of many, I hope!) - these are the large fish predators of the California Current Ecosystem that you may get to encounter while whale watching here!
