The title is a reference to the two main characters, who are nicknamed Diana and Artemis, goddess of the moon and the hunt in Roman and Greek myths. As such Diana's design is akin to the new moon and uses a hunting knife and Artemis is more like the crescent and uses a "bow"(yes)
