Recently uncovered this fossil from early last year when I still thought I could learn painting 🥲
A rock/flying fakemon line based on Wiwaxia, Aegirocassis, and blimps (featuring one bonus fossil)! They're some of my fave prehistoric creatures so it was a ton of fun making them into pokemon 🦐

Some old #paleoart for #FossilFriday: a mural of an OTT early Jurassic sea I painted back in 2018. I remember having a week or two to paint this and another commission for the same project, so much work was done and not much sleep was had.
For #fossilfriday, compare the pair. Drimolen P. robustus preserves a suite of morphological traits that make them distinct from P. robustus from Swartkrans and Kromdraai. With Drimolen likely older than swartkrans and kromdraai, we can "see" evolutionary change through time.

Other than the leviathan fossils,Hyrule is filled with other bones. While some could be hinox or molduga skeletons, the skulls that are found in lizalfos camps and the bottomless swamp are veery peculiar🤔
As Darren says, even though this looks extreme, there is some decent fossil evidence that dromaeosaur claw tips really were this long and thin in life. It also makes sense if we imagine the claws are used for piercing deeply and holding a prey animal under the body weight. https://t.co/KagYKR27lU
Y’ALL SHOULD CONSIDER COMMISSIONING CELINE!!!! They were so kind to draw my Fossil Fighters self-insert and Joe Wildwest recently!!! 😭❤️ https://t.co/McZNKd0xx8
#Trilobites are a pretty massive group of arthropods that spanned from the early Cambrian to the Permian.. They're so common that they make excellent index fossils, meaning they can be used to date other fossils within their strata. This one is based on the genus Paradoxides!
