Some detail from my latest piece. Twitter compresses the images, so much detail is lost. Also fun to see how the eye creates detail from a scribble or texture.

The coloured versions are tests for the gradient map in Procreate.

I'm kinda an old person. I always do the sketch on paper before doing the digital. Sketch on the paper is really different when you sketch in the app. I love the paper texture.

(Posting this again cause I wanted to include an environment.) Another 3D game asset modeling assignment! We were supposed to model something in Maya and then bring it into Substance Painter to texture. I just played around with a funky little rusting mailbox.

Whenever I succeed in making the parents and children look related I'm very happy LOL.

She got most of her features from her mom (eye, skin color) but have her dad's hair texture. And her features are also more rounded because of her dad.

The traditional digi color study, & final This study stayed pretty close, but there are always happy accidents with watercolor. The studies were kept very quick knowing I'd use the watercolor's natural aspects to develop color mixing & texture.

An unfortunate part of posting artwork, digital or traditional, is losing some of the fidelity, detail, and texture. So this is a fun trend: 🙂

Finished and scanned in Goldfish. I got this paper from Cass Art and it didn't like my masking fluid so ripped on the fish which made me sad at first, but I think it adds to the fish texture.
