I think the Amiga commercial market was dying, so the product got pushed out the door before it was ready. 😐 There were no animated graphics on the battlescape, nor night-time missions (though there were still flares), and it became *real* slow on big maps, even with an 040 CPU.

They’re not accurately located or sized on any flat earth map either
Also the reason for the globe map problem is that it is basically impossible to unravel a sphere into a 2D surface. The most accurate globe maps look weird
