Whenever I see a Japanese game with a big scheduled update, my first thought is of the localizers rubbing their chitinous mandibles together with glee at the prospect of having another chance to tweak text.

CRAB WEEK ENDETH
Mermay Day 20 - Vampire Crab~
A nocturnal little crab that scuttles onto the dry land of rainforest valleys at twilight, sinking their mandibles into most anything
Many fossil mandibles and maxillae of Homo have multiple mental or infraorbital foramina. This happens when the nerves or vessels branch more deeply within the bone, instead of in the superficial tissue. It's not clear why this was more common in some past populations.
One of the first known mandibles of Homo erectus was this left side of a jaw from Zhoukoudian, China, found in 1931. Many #hominin jaws discovered later would come to be called H. erectus because of similarity to this individual. #paleoanthropology

As a bug enthusiast, this request was a pleasure to draw... but the face was pretty complicated! Aaaah! I spend quite some time on this mandibles...
It’s not an original pose, because I needed to practice her first.
@mue_2e Its another cutie! Here's my four eyed Marrakkor. Their crest, mandibles, and even physical form varies slightly according to where they hail from on Elynd.
Southerners have small horns and rounded mandibles or receeded mandibles due to city life and the lack of territory duels.
@Breenlander here's a little sketch that shows the ocelli crown and triple mandibles a bit more clearly, they also haven't shaved for a few days here. Forward facing eyes having evolved as a pursuit predator, kinda referencing an ogre spider
Miss Kairi #kingdomhearts as a Tooth Fairy. Her mandibles are for crushing teeth and nipping the fingers/toes of kids who try to give her rotten/fake teeth.
This alternative Predator artwork by Vlad Gheneli is great. I like how he rethinks design elements (like the mandibles), but the impression is true to the concept of the creature. That leanness and hawk-like profile feel more "right" than the look in some of the comics or sequels
@zombietwink62 crystal here is VERY charming and quite the flirt, why don't you try and outcharm 98 and I's beloved mantis girl ~? (side note, she is always smiling and those are mandibles tucked in her mouth)
Been grinding through the retopo on my new insect character. Just got the hands to do on the body before I start detailing the other bits n bobs like wings, backpack, antennae & mandibles.
From this angle does it look like this ant has a big nose or mandibles?
"You know you put He-Man these twice, right?"
"They are riding around in a giant turtle with laser cannons and a crane with eyes and mandibles. Does it really matter?"
Day 13 of #Pokecember2020 features Kricketune, drawn by @Vitreous_Glassy for the #UpdatedPokérap. This musical maestro with mustache mandibles truly has an memorable cry, fitting of such a momentous 'mon.

Day 9 of #Monstober - Mandibles
He has no name, only goes by 'Test Subject'
Here is the Candied Brackjaw, a 19 block long reef-dwelling arthropod that burrows into the ground and leaves it's large mandibles sticking up in the air to look like a coral shelter for creatures. It will spring up to attack anything unfortunate enough to move over it.
9: Mandibles
I like them quite a bit! They probably love shiny things and are dramatic as heck.

He was exploring a gigantic ant nest, yet he was somehow surprised to find gigantic ants inside...
