If I’m drawing poc everything is so much clearer and I can work with lighting in ways I normally find difficult.

But if I’m drawing a white character? My eyes hurt, I can’t tell what I’m doing, and I just guess with shading.

I’m white af, my best works are poc characters

Okay, it looks like there wasn't much of a change with the shading style, but there is! I added more outline to each shade and I might do that for now on. I still have a lot to learn, I hope you guys like it!

Fortnite have really gotten their shit together with Cell-Shading and it really shows with these 2
Gwen actually looks straight out of the movie and Lennox Rose looks really good since they removed the heavy library on most Cell-Shaded skins

Then comes doing the complete piece.

1st is general layout/super rough. Been doing this with my drawing as of late and it helps a lot.
2nd is sketch. Important stage for me.
3rd is lineart. Hard but enjoyable.
4th is flat color. Then after is shading and such.
