While watching a playthrough of Red, I had the idea of re-doing all original 151 sprites to be closer to Ken Sugimori's old watercolor artwork that's super nostalgic to me. It's pretty tough but also a lot of fun! What do you think?

Was curious so I tried bringing it into actual NES graphics (using NEXXT a graphics software for NES development). Uses single sprite face sprite. I wasn't able to get the white highlights in without spending some more time shifting things around.
